Ginger...spice...and everything nice!

Of course, ginger is the key ingredient in Cobblestone Cookies; in a great tasting, spicy mixture which also includes cinnamon, molasses and our special secret ingredients. Cobblestone Cookies are wonderful dessert treats made from healthful and wholesome ingredients, some of which have long been used in herbal and traditional medicine. We are not making health claims for our cookies — these "fun facts" provide information about some of the many beneficial uses of our quality ingredients.

Plated cookiesGinger plays a role in many sweet foods and drinks in Western cuisine while in Eastern cuisine it can be found in many mainstay foods. The benefits of ginger have been long known — most related to gastrointestinal health and the prevention of motion and morning sickness. It is recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration and is sold as an unregulated dietary supplement. Research continues on ginger's beneficial role in inflammation and the treatment of several diseases.

Cinnamon has been mentioned in the press lately for its potential to relieve arthritis pain, boost cognitive function and memory, and its beneficial effect on insulin levels in the body.

One of our secret ingredients gets its health benefit from flavonoids which can act as antioxidants to counteract cellular damage and may lower blood pressure and improve flow. Another ingredient is a natural antibiotic, a great source of fiber and potassium, iron and vitamins C and K. As an herbal medicine it is used to treat stomach ailments, anemia and heart disease. It is also used to preserve food.

But the biggest benefit of Cobblestone Cookies is that they are Yummy!
